(Continued from page 1)

upcoming New Year of 2007.

Please continue to keep us in your prayers, we all need them.

Again, thank you all,
Pastor Mantl

6. The church launched a new website (www.sovereigngracebaptistchurch.net),our newsletter was recently added and the information and links are updated as time permits.  Check it out and give us some feedback.
7. The pastor and deacon met with a local architect in preparation of designing and building a modest church building.  We hope to start construction this coming summer if funds permit.
8. The church has had many visits by inquiring local residents in the community, some of whom continue to attend.
9. Pastor Mantl participated in our local radio station  five minute devotional broadcast with opportunity to provide several messages over the coming year.
10. The church hosted preachers Ken White (Northwoods Baptist Church, Rhinelander, Wisconsin), John Mitchell (New Covenant Baptist Church, Great Falls, Montana), and John Hunter (Grace Baptist Church of Anniston, Alabama).

In addition to the above "good things" there was other significant happenings, the most grievous was the loss of three of our original charter member families and one of the ladies that was baptized during the year.  We continue to pray for them and desire reconciliation.

But the Lord in His Providence filled the void left by the departing members with sending three families and one lady to the church.  They have been faithful in attendance and receive the Word joyfully praising God that they are being exposed to the truth of the Scriptures as revealed in the Doctrines of Grace.

Pastor Mantl continues his preaching series on the book of Romans for the Sunday morning service with messages on "What is the Gospel" on Sunday evening.  The Wednesday night study continues in the 1689 Baptist Confession of Faith.

I thank God for the opportunity to serve Him and am pressing ahead expecting God to do great things.  Pray for us as we continue to run the race.

Greetings to you all again.  It may seem that this newsletter is a bit too soon as you may have recently received our fall edition.  The fall newsletter was late in getting out and I'm trying to get back on track with the winter edition even though it may contain less information and articles.
As I write this we are between the two holidays; celebrating the birth of Jesus and the beginning of the new year.  This is often the time for many to reflect on the past year and look forward to changes and new beginnings.  In light of that I'm offering my "ten most significant" happenings of this past year in the church at Ladysmith.

1. The church was visited by then seminary student Rick Tiallefer (currently Pastor of Northwoods Baptist Church, Rhinelander, Wisconsin), who preached on New Years Day.
2. We were also visited by Trevor Johnson, missionary to Papua, New Guinea, who outlined his future in the jungles.
3. The church purchased five acres of land located two miles south of Ladysmith (this was made possible by a generous donation by an anonymous Christian - thank you very much!).
4. We also received a generous donation by the Heritage Reformed Church, Marshfield, Wisconsin, towards our building project.  In addition to the financial gift was furniture and a sound system.
5. Pastor Mantl baptized and the church received two ladies into church membership.
